Community Scorecards
Flow of Information in A Community Scorecard ProjectThe Community Scorecard process is, in a sense, about information -- gathering and generating information, sharing information, and using information to advocate for change. The community scorecard itself is the product of three types of information coming together: the performance scorecard in which the community members assess the performance of the service provider, the input tracking scorecard in which selected people in the community assess the flow of resources into and through the service provider, and the self-evaluation scorecard in which service providers assess themselves.
At the interface meeting, which is normally held in every community that participates in the project, these three kinds of information are brought together to produce the community scorecard and to begin the process of direct consultation between the service provider and the community members (the users of the service).
Information from all the participating communities also feeds into similar "interface" events at District level and into advocacy and policy initiatives.
